The staff was very friendly and helpful. We especially liked the happy hour waitresses being so cheerful. It was also a chance to meet other visitors. Having a buffet breakfast on site was a plus.

At first, it was difficult to find our room through the maze.

Wonderfully quaint and charming hotel that you can literally get lost in. An excellent staff who are attentive and helpful, also fluent in multiple languages. An elegant and delightful piano bar where you can while away a few hours enjoying a glass of wine and cool off before venturing out again in the evening.

Sumptuous, yet old world charm; staff helpful and efficient to nth degree.

    Very good

A charming historic hotel set around a series of courtyards in a brilliant location in the old quarter - if anything perhaps in too touristy a location but close to everything nonetheless. After we had complained about our initial boxy, dingy room we were moved to a much better, airy and light room which was lovely.Once we had got this sorted out we had a lovely relaxed stay it was a great base for our forays into the City.

The furnishings have perhaps seen better days and the television was old and did not have satelite as promised ( BBC World is an essential especially when there is an international incident going on like when we were there). We were initially put in a boxy dingy room but we complained and were put the following day into a much lighter and nicer room. The reception staff seemed generally a bit unfriendly and did not proffer advice when approached

    Very good

An amazing collection of buildings grouped together to form the hotel, just finding your way to and from reception to your room was an adventure! Wandering through the little courtyards and passages was fun. The rooms were comfortable with lovely bathrooms and showers.

We did not have rooms in the Patio de San Clemente as the booking said, but by the time we realised we felt it was too late to complain or to ask to move. If we had been staying more than two nights we might have done so. We felt they should offer a map of the hotel and Seville without having to be asked to do so. If they had we would have realised the mistake earlier.

We liked very much the spirit of this hotel - you get a much better feeling of the traditional Sevillan residences than staying in a standard hotel with rooms in row in a corridor. In this hotel even finding your room on your own after the staff has once shown the way is a pleasant exercise - you pass different patios with fountains, climb stairs and follow winding pathways. The room we had was beautifully furnished and the bath very comfortable.

Our dinner in the hotel restaurant was less spectacular. The restaurant is beautiful, but the food was not to the standard one would expect.

    Fabulous

The Mystry of finding your room and adventure of coming back to Reception Desk

This hotel is not meant for oldies like me who have knee problem.

    Fabulous

The building was beautiful and the staff very helpful.

Our room was a long long walk from the lobby throught the basement and located in the furthest corner of the hotel. The room was very dark and unappealing and had a strong mould odor. Our courtyard was very dark and thus difficult to negotiate when returning at night. The room was very expensive for what it was. Breakfast price was ridiculous. We walked across the street.

Uniquness of the hotel was so impressive. Walking around the inside of this hotel itself was like touring historic mansion in old Seville. Buildings were old and grand with intricated design. Every corner had some kind of large/small inside patio/coutyard with full of beauty (old tiles and fountains and cascading vines with beatiful flowers, potted plants and antique articles, etc). Because it is large hotel, staff was less personal but they were couteouse and helpful. It was good location for sightseeing and eating out. Room was good size and bed was very confortable. WIFI worked fine in piano bar where you can sit and relax. At arrival hotel staff took care of parking our car at nearby public parking for us.

Ligthing was dark and had to keep courtain closed because the window is next to walk way. Shower enclosure was very narrow (but it had plenty of hot water from rain fall style showehead.)

    Superb

Location is great, hotel room was lovely through a labyrinth of corridors, staff were very helpful, very quiet and peaceful would stay there again. Shame swimming pool had closed as weather was warm enough to swim.

  • 9.2
    Superb

The authentic old world charm. This is a romantic luxury place - the rooftop suite ideal for honeymooners

Noisy if you have a room facing the street as there's no double glazing - you will be woken up by traffic etc at 8!

    Very good

The beautiful way in which the buildings have been preserved and developed -- and the excellent staff. And the super location!

The bedroom was directly above the kitchen and so was noisy, particularly so late at night and early in the morning.

    Very good

The hotel is well located, close to the cathedral and within walking distance of most tourists sites. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby as well.

Our room was about as far as one could get from the main entrance. I suppose this reflected the price we paid on Booked.net. It is impossible to find the hotel by car. We had to hire a taxi which we followed in order get there. Leave the car at the airport if Seville is your last stop in Andalucia.

Good location for visiting old part of city. Friendly staff. Nice bathroom.

Room was a little dark, needed more lamps. We stayed at other excellent hotels on this trip to Spain and found that lighting in the rooms was also below par.

10/2010 Stay. Great location. Great architecture, with beautiful courtyards, gardens and inside rooms. Very comfortable. Free WiFi in excellent and comfortable lounge/bar area. Room 23 is large, rustic-looking, with its own semi-private courtyard, and a very nice whirlpool bath and separate rain shower. But, Room 23 is on ground level next to the kitchen so there is a noise problem you will experience. Make sure you ask about room location relative to kitchen.

Room 23 is on ground level next to the kitchen, so there will be a noise problem whenever the kitchen is open and cleaning up is taking place - late, because of Spanish eating hours. I would recommend the hotel; just ask about room location relative to kitchen. The back of the hotel looks quieter.
